Halt the march of food intolerances and allergies
Weaving new strategies with foundational approaches
Australia is in the unenviable position of having the highest rates of food anaphylaxis hospital admissions amongst those aged 0 to 4 years, experiencing a recent four-fold increase.
Interestingly however, food allergy and intolerance are no longer childhood conditions. They are rising and persisting from childhood to adolescence and beyond. A survey of teenagers aged 10 to 14 found 4.5% had clinic-defined allergy with 5.5% having self-reported allergy.
In this Clinical Concepts Live, we will unravel multi-faceted considerations in helping patients who present with food allergies and intolerances, blending tried and true naturopathic approaches with new concepts and strategies.
Join Toni Chambers, Bio Concepts Technical Advisor, to explore a mind-map for aiding decision-making when helping patients with food allergies and intolerances.
- Delve into case studies which detail clinical considerations, pathology, diet and lifestyle and nutritional/herbal prescriptions
- Consider a return to the whole-herb approach and nutrient synergy in gut-related prescriptions
- Learn when to introduce fibre and when to use non-fibre approaches to aid gut healing
- Explore the rise of allergy and intolerance amongst various ethnic groups as they become exposed to a western-style diet.
Please note, all session times listed are Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).
