Empowering the Male Patient
Practical interventions to improve male fertility, health and energy
Reproductive health, infertility and mental health are amongst the top concerns for men, according to the latest report on the state of male health in Australia. As practitioners we know men lead busy lives and need support to stay on top of their game. They need energy and stamina to perform well at work, the gym and home.
Stress is a risk factor for both infertility and mental health disorders and it is not necessarily one-off events that have the most impact, but constant daily stressors such as work stress, and financial and family stress.
Stress is a known cause of infertility which is now affecting 15% of couples, with half of these attributed to the male. Stress impacts spermatogenesis and sperm quality.
Join Colleen Rowe, Bio Concepts Technical Advisor, to explore factors impacting male fertility and practical solutions to improve patient outcomes.
- Explore the mechanisms behind male infertility, including failure of spermatogenesis, DNA fragmentation and the impact of environmental toxins.
- Examine nutritional and lifestyle interventions to support male fertility, energy and stamina.
- Understand the male experience of infertility - the psychosocial and social aspects of male infertility will be discussed.
- Explore how work stress and work patterns, including sedentary work and shift work, can negatively impact on male health and fertility.
