RECORDING: The Adaptive Brain: Psychoneuroimmunology in Practice
Date & Time
Location
Overview
Anxiety, stress, and mental health challenges are more prevalent than ever, with many patients seemingly resistant to “normal” treatments.
In this presentation, Dr. Olivia Lesslar explores a clinical framework that allows you to get the root cause of a patient’s symptoms by understanding that the human brain often perceives current challenges as echoes of ancient survival threats. Learn our nine primal fears and how they are triggered by today’s modern lifestyles, and a practical framework to personalise treatments.
Learning Outcomes
- How Ancient Threats Shape Modern Anxiety – Discover 9 primal fears shaping our survival instincts and how these are triggered by today’s modern lifestyles.
- The network of threat detection systems – Understand how the brain integrates sensory, physiological, and cognitive signals to respond to danger. Chronic stress or trauma disrupts this system, leading to common mental health challenges like anxiety, PTSD & more.
- Clinical applications – Apply Dr Lesslar’s exclusive framework to real clinical cases, to explore innovative new clinical insights, and better understand the root causes of patients’ maladaptive behaviours and responses. This practical framework can help develop more effective and personalised treatments for anxiety, PTSD and other related disorders.
