Event test 2020

Saturday, 4 July 20209:00 am - 3:30 pm 5 CPE Points Overview The world of interpreting conventional pathology is ever evolving with new scientific discoveries improving our knowledge every day. Join two industry experts, Dr Rhona Creegan and Elizma Lambert, to explore how to maximise more affordable conventional pathology options before turning to expensive functional testing. Rhona and Elizma will cover foundational knowledge of conventional pathology, while translating the latest scientific pathology research to clinical practice with case study examples. This six-hour workshop will provide a deeper understanding of conventional pathology and its application in clinic: Overview of general tests and why they are used, including the physiology/biochemistry of the test Looking at ratios and patterns relevant to health conditions and how to make it clinically relevant Signs and symptoms experienced within particular categories and which markers may be responsible for these Optimal ranges compared to standard laboratory reference ranges When to go outside conventional pathology to functional testing The actions to take when test results and patterns indicate dysfunction Tests will be broken into different categories such as mental health, fatigue, toxicity, gut disorders and metabolic syndrome and then examined as interactive case studies. Location Novotel Brisbane200 Creek Street, Brisbane City QLD 4000 Meet the Speakers Dr Rhona CreeganPhD, BSc Biomedical Sciences, MSc Clinical Biochemistry, MSc Nutrition Medicine Dr Rhona Creegan is a Nutritional Biochemist and Consultant with extensive experience in clinical biochemistry, molecular genetics and nutrition. Rhona has worked as a Senior Laboratory Scientist in major teaching hospitals in the UK and Australia in both clinical biochemistry and diagnostic molecular genetics laboratories. She has completed formal studies in Nutritional Medicine (Masters) and as a PhD researcher, has investigated abnormal lipid metabolism in Alzheimer’s disease. She is a Nutritional Medicine Practitioner, working alongside conventional medicine to optimise patient health with targeted conventional and functional testing, and nutrition and lifestyle plans. This integrated approach aims to determine the root cause of common chronic health issues affecting digestion, immune function, mood, hormones, fatigue, weight management and metabolic disease. Rhona is an educator, researcher, consultant to the industry and a published author in nutritional biochemistry, genetics and nutrition. Elizma Lambert BSc Health Science (Hom), Adv Dip Health Science (Nat) Elizma is a qualified Naturopath and Homeopath with almost 15 years’ experience. Her special interests lie in conventional pathology and functional diagnostics, nutrigenomics and cellular dysfunction. She has gained the reputation of being an industry expert when it comes to test interpretations, including organic acids, and ‘connecting the dots’ between biochemistry, genetics and symptoms in complex health conditions. When she is not treating clients, Elizma is lecturing nationally and internationally. She was a guest speaker at the Wistar Institute of Cancer Research at the University of Pennsylvania; she also spoke in Poland on autism, in the Phillipines on mitochondrial function in ageing and disease, and conducted functional diagnostics training in Ireland, Scotland, London, the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
