Clinical Concepts Live
Date & Time
This month's topic:
Probiotics or Prebiotics? That is the question...
Dysbiosis has been the buzzword in the natural medicine world for some time in relation to gut health, but the emerging concept is microbiome diversity, a feature of most dysbiosis.
Loss of diversity is a trait of people who live in the industrialised world and goes hand-in-hand with recurrent infections and chronic health conditions such as diabetes, autism, allergy, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and cancer.
Probiotics have been the treatment of choice however, in this Clinical Concepts Live, we will explore the explosion in prebiotic and microbiome diversity research.
Join Toni Chambers, Bio Concepts Technical Advisor, to explore the role that prebiotics play in modulating the composition and function of host gut microbiota, and the positive implications this has for health outcomes.
- Uncover the function of prebiotics in the body
- Understand the importance of both probiotic and prebiotic supplementation and the timing of each
- Explore metabiotics and their role in gut health
- Link the function of probiotics, prebiotics and metabiotics to signs and symptoms
Please note, all session times are listed in Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST)
